It’s interesting when both sides of a conflict are unpalatable. Take, for instance, the ridiculous destruction that occurred in Toronto on Saturday. A small group of shit-disturbers turned what was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration against the G-8/G-20 conference into a violent rampage, complete with shattered store windows and burning police cars.
I’ve never heard of anything like this happening in Canada before. One of my tweets on Twitter yesterday read: “Is it just me, or is the world getting a little bit less hospitable every single day?” It’s hard to be positive at times, especially when you see a group of anarchists, who basically don’t care about anything except, well, anarchy, hijacking a protest against a group of politicians who are out of touch with reality and don’t, quite frankly, give a rat’s ass about the people they’re supposed to be representing.
It’s the same all over. It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about governments, huge corporations, media outlets, or religious institutions. The individual just doesn’t seem to matter any more.
